Come experience the meaning & true spirit of Pura Vida!
Essentially, the meaning of Pura Vida is pure life or simple life. This has a lot to do with the culture of Costa Rica and the attitude of the people. The Costa Rican people tend to be much more relaxed and worry free. There really is no need to worry when you are in paradise. Not only consistently ranked as one of the happiest populations on the planet, Costa Ricans also have one of the longest life expectancies of any country!
Pura Vida is both a greeting and a goodbye, an answer to the question, “How are you?” and an expression uttered—perhaps shouted—at joyous occasions.
But Pura Vida is much more than a term. It’s a spirit, a vibe, or an attitude and the best way to experience Pura Vida is by visiting Costa Rica where you can enjoy the soothing climate, the friendliness of the people and the slower pace of life!

Flights and other details
My initial research is showing that there will be good options for flying direct from LAX to San Jose (June Santamaria International Airport) for approximately $500-700 round trip. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS WITHOUT FIRST RUNNING THEM BY ME!! I will begin searching in earnest for the flights I prefer in February and will let you know the options. I will be looking at redeye flights that arrive early Saturday.
If you prefer, you might choose to fly in a few days early to do some exploring. In that case, you will be on your own for getting to Casa de Las Brisas on July 20th. I also highly recommend staying on at least another night on the back end so you won't have to leave our Pura Vida Retreat super early on the last day. Costa Rica is such a vast and incredibly beautiful country with so much to be explored! I have chosen Manuel Antonio for our trip due to its lush beauty and central location close to the ocean. From there you can head north or south or even inland to do and see so much more!
When some good flights start to open up, I will offer up a few suggestions with similar arrival times. Ideally I would like to group us together for the ride from San Jose to Casa de Las Brisas which is a beautiful 2 1/2 - 3 hour drive. We will take our time, stop along the way for lunch and perhaps stop to see some monkeys or sloths as we begin our adventure!
